Nachu ward is led by a member of county assembly, who ideally represents Nachu ward in the  Kiambu county assembly. The member of county assembly is assisted by the ward administrator  who monitors the delivery of government services by the office of the member of the county assembly. Member of the county assembly is elected by the residents of the ward while the governor, who leads the county assembly, appoints the ward administrator.

The national government has further divided Nachu ward into locations, namely; Nachu and Lussigetti. These locations are led by chiefs. These locations are further divided into four sub-locations, namely; Lussigeti, Renguti, Nachu and Gatune. These sub-locations are headed by assistant chiefs. These sub-locations are divided into villages led by chairman of the  heads of Nyumba Kumi. Heads of Nyumba Kumi lead roughly ten homesteads in a village. Chiefs, assistant chiefs and heads of Nyumba Kumi are appointed by the government through the ministry of interior security.
