The Njangiri caves also form an attraction in Nachu ward. There are two caves in the same site. The upper cave is bigger than the lower cave, hollow and most utilized. There is a hearth, an evidence that people meet for bonfire. The lower cave is serene, and less disturbed. It is said to have a leopard that guards it. The path leading to it is steeper and adventurous to navigate through.

There is also a less known attraction that is historically important for Nachu ward. It’s a hidden historical treasure. It’s a curvature of a bull hoof. It’s called ‘Ikinya’ in the native language, and there is a path leading to the treasure, overlooking the SGR, called ‘Njira ya Ikinya.’ It is rumored that long ago, stored in the memory of the residents, that a lion roared and cause the tamed animals to shake in fear in fear of the lion. One bull jumped over the fence and ran helter skelter, to escape the wrath of the lion.

Unfortunately, the bull ran in the way of the lion, and a life and death encounter ensured. The bull ran and tripped on a rock, leaving the mark of its hoof on that rock. It should be in the history books, but here, records are kept in the memories of the witnesses, and those who hear the original story before it is distorted.

The second and third SGR tunnels are found in Nachu Ward. It is a man made attraction, and many people are undertaking trails and nature walks day in day out, just to see the tunnels.
